The model of villas with hotels in Morocco has gained popularity in recent years. It’s a win win scenario for the real estate owner who has the benefit of first class amenities on his doorstep and the prospect of an uplift in his property value due to the onsite hotel’s facilities.
L’Amandier CEO Anwar Harland-Khan, says, “The time is right for the real estate and hotel model, and to invest in property in Morocco. Tourism has been steadily growing year on year for over a decade, the property market is starting to show real signs of maturity and the country’s economy goes from strength to strength.
“A combination of strong governance, cultural richness, a liberal society and all year sunshine, have been a magnet for inward investment in Morocco. This, coupled with Morocco’s tough policy on domestic security, have made the country one of the world’s premier emerging markets with a robust investment outlook.”
British buyer at L’Amandier, Zach Dovey, who practices as a surgeon in Belgium, says, “The potential for investment uplift at L’Amandier is huge. It’s a really differentiated property prospect – what you get for your money is unique, compared to other parts of the world where your property might be one of a several that are the same.”
Here we select 5 of the best villas with hotels in Morocco:
Located in the Ouirgane Valley, L’Amandier is in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, one hour south of Marrakech and 15 minutes from Sir Richard Branson’s 27-bedroom Kasbah Tamadot hotel. This is spectacular countryside: valleys of pine trees and olive groves scarred with slashes of terracotta earth, leading towards the peaks.
Here, of the 14 villas, two only remain available to buy – Villa Amandier, a premium three-bedroom, south-facing villa, priced £495,000; and Villa Lavande, currently modelled as a two bedroom, but yet to be finished, so with the potential to be upgraded to a three bedroom property, priced at £339,000.
Each villa underscores L’Amandier’s philosophy of marrying a contemporary European design aesthetic and specification with traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and materials. The architecture is cubist in form but plays on the style of a Moroccan riad – each is an inside out house to Western eyes, whereby the rooms are built around a central courtyard.
In quarter four 2016, a five-star boutique hotel will open at L’Amandier. At launch the luxury retreat will have six ensuite rooms, a 50-cover restaurant, and 25-metre infinity pool – with sublime views across the valley and lake and on to the Atlas Mountains – followed next year by a spa.
